How
do I get a smooth finish on Belzona 1111 Super Metal?
- A
75 micron finish is about the smoothest that Belzona 1111 Super Metal
can be machined too.The best way to achieve this is by machining to
within 0.004 inches of your final and then polishing with fine emery
cloth and machine oil. This will yield the smoothest profile by lathe.
2.
How long will it take for the Belzona Product to cure?
- Most
Belzona Products are unique in that the thicker they are, the faster
they will cure.This physical property enables Belzona Products
to be used where excess time is not available.
- On the Instructions
for use data leaflet included with the product, Section 4 shows
a timetable of temperatures and cure times for the recommended thickness of Belzona Product.

What if I don't want the Belzona Product to adhere to one side of what
I am repairing?
- Use
Belzona 9411 Release Agent.
- Coat the
area where you do not want the Belzona Product to adhere and
let the Belzona 9411 Release Agent dry for at least 20 minutes at
20°C.
- Additional
coats can be applied but wait at least 20 minutes before at 20°C before
overcoating with another Belzona Product.
4.
Are there any written procedures with diagrams that I can use?
- Yes,
Belzona has several written procedures for repairs to common industrial
components.
- These are
available on an as needed basis and are provided free of charge with
the purchase of Belzona Product.
- Just mention
your repair situation to your local consultant and they can provide
you with a procedure.
